RIVER VALLEY ACQUIRES GARDEN SPOT DISTRIBUTORS

(Syracuse, NY)--River Valley Holdings, a Syracuse-based Grocery Merchandising and Distribution company, has just announced its acquisition of Garden Spot Foods. Now a wholly-owned subsidiary of River Valley Holdings, Garden Spot is a distributor of natural and organic products throughout the United States, reports www.rivervalleyfoods.com. The acquisition was completed on January 21, 2017.

Garden Spot's core distribution area covers the northeastern United States, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. They also reach customers across the country and internationally through their website Gluten-Free Mall. The website sells dry and frozen gluten-free products that can be shipped around the world. The company will continue to operate out of their facility in New Holland, PA as an independent division of River Valley, and they will keep the name Garden Spot Foods, LLC.

River Valley plans to continue developing the Shiloh Farms and PureLiving brands that Garden Spot is known for. These brands include over 200 items of unique natural products which are widely distributed throughout the country.

Founded as a wholesaler of frozen foods in 1985, River Valley Holdings has since developed a focus on in-store service as a major part of their business. After acquiring Cavallaro Foods in 2004 and Nichols Distributing in 2014, the company has expanded into specialty foods and snacks. Their product base currently includes many natural, organic, gluten-free, Asian, kosher, and other specialty products.
